Margaret G. Wangler
Senior Shareholder & Managing Attorney of Coachella Valley office

Ms. Wangler has been a member of the California State Bar since 1988. She is a Senior Shareholder and Director of Fiore, Racobs & Powers and the senior supervising attorney for the Firm's Coachella Valley office. Ms. Wangler received her preparatory education at the University of Iowa, where she graduated in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. Ms. Wangler attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan, where she earned her Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) cum laude. Ms. Wangler served as Editor in Chief of the Cooley Law Review in 1985-1986, and was also the Editor of the Michigan Opinion Notes for the Michigan Bar Journal in 1985-1986.

Along with Mr. Racobs of the Firm, she successfully represented the plaintiff in Villa de las Palmas Homeowners Association vs. Terifaj (2004) 33 Cal. 4th 73, before the California Supreme Court, which recognized a presumption of validity for CC&R amendments approved by association members.

Ms. Wangler is a member of the Desert Bar Association, Soroptimist International of Cathedral City - Rancho Mirage and the Community Associations Institute (CAI). She is a Contributing Editor of the newsletter for the Coachella Valley Chapter of CAI, the Quorum. She serves as Co-Chairperson of the Education Committee and serves on the faculties for CAI's education courses and has served on the Chapter's Board of Directors. She currently serves on the Steering Committee of the Legal Advisory Committee of CACM, and has served on the CACM faculty for continuing education courses for several years. Ms. Wangler was the recipient of the CAI's Coachella Valley Chapter's Outstanding Member of the Year award in 1999, the Chapter's Distinguished Service Award in 2000, and the Hall of Fame Award in 2007.

Ms. Wangler has written numerous articles in the field of community association law for CAI newsletters, The Desert Sun and other publications. She is the Managing Editor of the Firm's newsletter, The Legal Perspective©.
